| Double Feature: Red Skelton In The King Of Laughter From Vaudville and radio to Hollywood and television, the late Red Skelton was truly the king of laughter, and this hilarious compilation celebrates his reign with comedy bits. Sketches and Red's trademark ad-libs. Of course, Red enacts such memorable charaters as Cauliflower Mcpugg, Clem Cadiddlehopper, Willie Lump Lump, Deadete and BBC newscaster Lord Beaverhead. You'll also see rare clips from a rehersal show with Martha Raye, which never aired on T.V. and the classic blooper that occured when an onstage cow contributed its own unique ad-lib. Danny Kaye In The Inspector General In Russia in the 1800's, an illiterate stooge in a traveling medicine show wanders into a strange town and is picked up on a vagrancy charge. The town's corrupt officials mistake him for the inspector general, whom they think is traveling in disguise. Fearing that he will discover that they have been stealing the tax money, they make several bungling attempts to kill him. This screw-ball comedy is Danny Kaye at his very best! |
